ABHA NATIONAL OPEN INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Crawford, Tex.—The 2011 inaugural running of the ABHA National Open Invitational Championship was conducted October 20-21, held at the Elkins lease in Crawford, Tex. Twelve dogs were invited to compete over two days for this National title under the judicial eyes of Jim Baker and Conrad Plevnic. After the smoke cleared, Poker Straight Jett Star was named champion, the setter male owned and handled by Adrian Jackson of Boys Ranch, Tex. Runner-up was Hobbs Silver Belle for owner-handler Keith Foreman of Sulphur, Okla.

INOLA OPEN TRIALS

Inola, Oka.—The 2011 edition of the Inola Open stakes commenced Monday, October 24, at the McFarlin-Ingersoll Ranch near Inola, Okla. The Open Derby drew 23 dogs, and the Open All-Age has 48.

Judges for both stakes are Michael D. Crouse of Dixon, Ky., and Terry Tuley of Hewitt, Tex.

NATIONAL AMATEUR PHEASANT CHAMPIONSHIP

Dresden, Ohio—The National Amateur Pheasant Championship followed on the heels of the National Open Pheasant Championship at the Tri Valley Area near Dresden, Ohio. Dr. Fred Corder swept the stake, Game Maker winning the title and Rock Acre Rambo, runner-up

Judges were John Vanada of Tangier, Ind., and Ray Warren of Crofton, Ky.

OHIO-PENNSYLVANIA SHOOTING DOG CHAMPIONSHIP

Dresden, Ohio—The Ohio-Pennsylvania Open Shooting Dog Championship commenced October 28 at the Tri Valley grounds near Dresden, Ohio; the stake has 24 entries.

Judges are Ted Goodyear of Centerburg, Ohio and Jeff Haggis of Glencoe, Ontario.
